Spirit FM's "new boy" takes over the Sunday lunchtime show, and continues our search for the brainiest pub team in West Sussex in Battle of The Boozers!

Mike's been in radio for more years than he cares to admit - "it's longer than a decade but not quite as much as two" is all he'll say!

Over the years Mike has worked as a journalist, newsreader, producer and presenter, and has shared studios with many of his own heroes from the worlds of stage, screen and politics. Mike's career includes time with local, regional and national commercial radio stations as well as the BBC. Several times along the way Mike has donned what he calls his ‘serious hat' by working in management but says he's always glad to return to the coal face where he can sit down with a cup of coffee in the comfort of an air-conditioned studio and play some songs!

Nowadays Mike splits his time between lecturing in journalism and radio, spending time with his family which includes ‘the lovely Jules' - as well as his three children - Ben, Emily and Lucy - and of course presenting a regular weekend show here on Spirit FM. Mike wants to complete his household by getting a cat - but the wife won't let him!

What else can we tell you about Mike? Well, he's a Sussex boy born and bred. He's a keen amateur chef and enjoys dabbling in creating French, Italian, and Thai cuisine. Mike doesn't have a favourite song - apparently an impossible task, but he does enjoy allsorts of music from pop to jazz, and just about anything in between. The Shawshank Redemption is somewhere in Mike's Top 10, as is the original Star Wars (Ed's note: some boys never grow up!).
