Helen reads Spirit FM's news bulletins on weekday afternoons plus Spirit Reports at 13.00 and 18.00, and on Sunday mornings
Helen is a Selsey lass, having moved there from Bognor at the tender age of 5. After a few years spent working for a PR agency in London, she decided to trade in her skinny mochaccinos and fancy foreign jaunts for the bright lights of journalism. Now she spends her time driving Elsie, her long-suffering little car, badly, round West Sussex.
Helen started off working the occasional weekend shift for Spirit FM while she was still at journalism school . She's also freelanced for a few other stations across the South but her heart's always really been at Spirit and she was delighted to be offered the chance to join the team full-time.
She remembers the station launching. It used to broadcast live from her school fete when she was just a nipper, as she enjoys reminding the older members of the Spirit team.
She says she likes journalism "because it mainly involves chatting to interesting people and you get to go to places you normally wouldn't."
When not reading the news, she's been known to indulge in a spot of bellydancing and netball. Although, not at the same time. Usually.
