Health officials say they expect the number of smokers quitting in West Sussex to more than double this year.
Last year, almost 2,000 quit with NHS help in the county.
Experts say addicts are four times more likely to pack up when they seek professional help.
NHS workers say in recent weeks, they've seen an increase in people seeking help, with many using January to start their New Year resolution to kick the habit.

"Free expert advice, access to medication, in our clinical conditions we can do carbon monoxide monitoring. And we can actually provide a taylored support for that individual."
