Once again we are looking to you to help us find the unsung heroes in West Sussex…

Together with Check a Trade we’re searching for special people who are worthy of recognition so that we can honour them at our annual glitzy dinner and awards ceremony at the Avisford Park Hotel. Each winner will receive a trophy and a cash donation to the charity of their choice, as well as the memory of an amazing night to cherish.

The Spirit fm Local Hero Awards are given at the discretion of the judging panel, so every single nomination stands a chance of winning on its own merits; the person deemed most deserving in each category will win, not necessarily the person with multiple nominations.

The nomination process for Local Heroes 2012 is now open. Please get your votes to us as soon as you can, telling us exactly what makes your Local Hero so special.  Perhaps it’s someone who gives up their time to help others, or someone who has triumphed in the face of adversity. Or maybe you know of someone who has achieved in the world of sport, shown phenomenal bravery or who has gone beyond the call of duty as a member of the emergency services on as a teacher?
