Help Sophie Walk
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped raise money for 5 year old Sophie Nugent from Angmering ...
Sophie has cerebral palsy which left her unable to walk or stand on her own due to her brain giving incorrect signals to her feet leaving them permanently pointed and she was often struck down with painful spasms.
What's amazing about Sophie's condition is that there is an operation that will allow her to walk and enjoy a pain free life ... but the operation is only available in America, so ... I said let's get her there!
Sophie has now had the operation at the hospital in Missouri - a ‘selective dorsal rhizotomy' was carried out on July 20th.
The cost worked out to £40,000 and through family savings and the generosity of local people they had already reached halfway!
So I asked you to try and raise the other £20,000 and help Sophie to walk ... and... YOU DID IT!
