| BATTLE OF THE BOOZERS - The Rules! You will have sixty seconds in which to answer ten questions. If you wish to pass just say, “pass” and we will return to the question, if there is time, once all ten have been asked. Passed questions may be asked in any order. Your spokesperson and team must be available from midday until 1 pm. You should have the radio on so that your team can hear the questions but it must be at a low level or we will have problems with feedback. DO NOT LISTEN VIA THE INTERNET AS THERE IS A DELAY IN ONLINE BROADCASTING AND YOU WILL LOOSE VALUABLE TIME! Answers will be accepted ONLY from the pub’s spokesperson (the person on the telephone). Answers being shouted out in the background will not be accepted. The first answer given by the spokesperson is the only answer that will be accepted, no matter how quickly an alternative answer is given. All rounds will be recorded and will be referred to in the event of any query. Questions will be a mix of general knowledge, local knowledge, music, trivia, current affairs, entertainment, geography, history and literature. Each week both sets of questions will be tested on an independent adjudicator to ensure that both participating pubs have a fair and equal chance. In the event of a draw the pub with the least amount of passed questions will be declared the winner. In the event of a dead heat we will ask a tiebreak question. The first pub to answer correctly will score the deciding point. Please remind your team that Battle of the Boozers is a fun, friendly and free-to-enter contest. Good sportsmanship and a cheerful team spirit are prerequisites for taking part. The decision of Spirit fm is final! Please ensure that your customers are aware of your pub’s involvement in the contest and try and enlist their help as vocal supporters when you take part. Please make sure that you continue to listen to Spirit fm in the coming weeks for details of where we are in the fixture list, details also from www.spiritfm.net - do check the website as updated information will be added as it becomes available. In the event of any problems appertaining to your participation in Battle of the Boozers please call 01243 773600 during office hours or 01243 539000 between 10am – midday at the weekend, giving us as much notice as possible. However, it may be that we are unable to offer you an alternate date and you may forfeit your place as a result. The league is a complex and time-consuming thing to put together so your commitment and willingness to stick to your allocated date is much appreciated. Spirit fm is pleased to support its local pubs. Please be ready to tell us a bit about your boozer when you chat to us on air. This gives you some free on-air publicity and can include details of what kind of food and drink is served, events, locals, charities that the pub is involved with, etc. If you have any questions, please get in touch. GOOD LUCK! To download a poster for your pub click here. |
